About the Catskill Readers’ Theatre: The Catskill Readers’ Theatre was formed in 2016 under the direction of Sally Gladden. Readers’ Theatre is a special form of theatre in which the performers DO perform but with their scripts. Acting concentration is on voice, facial expressions and bodily stance, with a touch of costuming and props tossed in when warranted. The script is designed to feature a theme (often at the request of the group), then many revisions and rehearsals are important as we individualize each program for the intended audiences. Thus far performances have been for a wide range of audiences: senior groups, service clubs, libraries, Hurleyville Arts Center, and The Sullivan County Historical Society. Founding performers are: Sally Gladden, Paul Puerschner, Albee Bockman, Fran Schiff, Ellen Pavloff, Peter Nastasi, Cookie House and Bunny Woloszczack and the group is open to new talent for future productions.
